Department of Disabled Person’s well-being:

The aim of this department is to initiate and implement interventions aimed at reducing poverty among disabled persons in both rural and urban Zambia. It is also intended to intensify research on disability issues both in Zambia and outside Zambia as a way of generating knowledge on how to address the plight of the disabled persons. The main programs in this department are:

(i) Farm the Land for Disabled Persons:

The aim of this program is to reduce hunger, foster food and income security, improve nutrition, and enhance independence of disabled persons by empowering poorest disabled persons with capital to cultivate their land, weed their land, provision of farming inputs and harvesting their crops.

(ii) Basic Necessities Support for Disabled Persons:

The aim of this program is to reduce poverty among poorest disabled persons in rural and urban Zambia by regularly providing basic services to disabled persons who are not able to fend for themselves due to their conditions such as severity of disability, being too old, and sickness among others. The services include provision of food, shelter, clothing, beddings, and medical aid. In local communities for the disabled persons, we aim to provide water, schools and clinics for the disabled person and their dependants.

(iii) Sexual Reproductive Health Services for the Disabled:

The aim of this program is to provide sexual reproductive health services to the disabled persons in reproductive age group.

(iv) Remove Disabled Persons from the Streets Programs:

The aim of this program is to remove all disabled persons who beg for charity on the streets from all the streets of Zambia by empowering them with life survival skills to engage in socially acceptable ways of living.

(v) Disabled Children’s Educational Support Program:

The aim of this program is to support formal education of disabled children from poor families from pre-school up to tertiary education level. This is meant to create a platform for disabled persons from poorest families to come out their poverty.

(vi) Life Survival Skills for Disabled Persons:

The aim of this program is to empower poorest disabled persons with life survival skills. This include giving relevant education to disabled persons such as in income generating activities, giving them start-up capital, identifying and supporting development of their talents.

(vii) Research on Disability:

(viii) Consultancy and training:

We do consultancy work and training in disability related issues.
